Dr. Allan is an award-winning scholar who has written on the dynamics of international order, science and politics, climate policy and the political economy of decarbonization. He is a regular advisor on government and industry on geopolitics, industrial strategy and policy.


Don Freschi

Founder and CEO, Fenix Advanced Materials

Don Freschi is a visionary business professional with over 30 years of experience in high technology manufacturing, operations and management, sales and marketing, technology development and strategic planning with both start-ups and established organizations. His rich business experience and vision in technology development have been vital for the initiation and expansion of UBC-Fenix R&D collaborations over the past years.


Hanshou Liu

Research Officer, National Research Council Canada and Energy Mining and Environment Research Centre

Dr. Liu received her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from McMaster University in 2017 and continued to work as a Postdoctoral Fellow at McMaster for two years before joining the National Research Council. Dr. Liu’s research focuses on material characterization, development and failure analysis of energy storage materials.
